CHARITABLE GAMING ACTIVITY
JULY 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2007 and CALENDAR YEAR 2007
LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Revenue Charitable Gaming Division reports that total dollars wagered on charitable gaming activities for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 were $131,578,265. Total dollars wagered on charitable gaming activities in 2007 were $262,426,616, which is 4% more than 2006, when $252,243,317 was wagered.
Total dollars wagered on county/city lottery (keno) for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 were $102,902,617. Total dollars wagered on keno in 2007 were $204,095,642, which is 7.7% more than 2006, when $189,504,125 was wagered.
Pickle card gross proceeds for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 were $19,775,584. Pickle card gross proceeds in 2007 were $40,842,321, which represents an overall decrease of 6.9%, as compared to 2006 when pickle card gross proceeds were $43,848,544. The total number of pickle card units sold in 2007 was 20,050, as compared to 22,101 in 2006.
Bingo gross receipts were $5,567,590 for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. Bingo gross receipts in 2007 were $11,492,015, which is 12.4% less than 2006, when bingo gross receipts were $13,111,693.
Lottery/raffle gross proceeds were $3,332,474 for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. Lottery/raffle gross proceeds in 2007 were $5,996,638, which is 3.8% more than 2006, when lottery/raffle gross proceeds were $5,778,955.
Charitable gaming activities generated taxes, license, and registration fees of $5,870,765 in 2007. Of that amount, $323,190 was license and registration fees. Total charitable gaming tax receipts in 2007 were $5,547,575, which is 3.4% more than 2006, when tax receipts were $5,367,867.
