CHARITABLE GAMING ACTIVITY
JANUARY 1 THROUGH MARCH 31, 2007
LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Revenue Charitable Gaming Division reports that total dollars wagered on charitable gaming activities for the period January 1, 2007 through March 31, 2007 were $66,861,039, which is a 3.2% increase as compared to the previous quarter when $64,813,001 was wagered. The amount wagered for the quarter ending March 31, 2007 is .7% more than the amount wagered for the same period in 2006 ($66,389,779).
County/city lottery (keno), the highest grossing charitable gaming activity, experienced an increase of 3% from the previous quarter with gross wagering of $51,480,394 as compared to $49,975,381. The amount wagered on keno for the period January 1, 2007 through March 31, 2007 was 4.2% more than the amount wagered for the same period in 2006 ($49,398,445). Pickle card gross proceeds were $11,062,335 for the quarter which is a 11.2% increase from the previous quarter ($9,949,970). However, pickle card gross proceeds were 11.3 % less than the same quarter in 2006 ($12,470,912). Bingo gross receipts for the quarter were $2,942,044 which is 7.1% less than the previous quarter ($3,166,346) and 12% less than the same quarter in 2006 ($3,342,677). Lottery/raffle gross proceeds were $1,376,266 which is 20% less than the previous quarter ($1,721,304) and 16.9% more than the same quarter in 2006 ($1,177,745).
Combined charitable gaming activities generated taxes, license, and registration fees of $1,429,973 for this reporting period. Of that amount, license and registration fees were $12,430.
