CHARITABLE GAMING ACTIVITY
JULY 1 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2006
LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Revenue Charitable Gaming Division reports that total dollars wagered on charitable gaming activities for the period July 1, 2006 through September 30, 2006 were $60,366,355, which is less than a .5% decrease as compared to the previous quarter when $60,629,458 was wagered. The amount wagered for the quarter ending September 30, 2006 is 1% less than the amount wagered for the same period in 2005 ($61,039,314).
County/city lottery (keno), the highest grossing charitable gaming activity, experienced a negligible decline from the previous quarter with gross wagering of $44,997,713 as compared to $45,087,862. However, the amount wagered on keno for the period July 1, 2006 through September 30, 2006 was 1.6% more than the amount wagered for the same period in 2005. Pickle card gross proceeds were $10,604,236 for the quarter. This is a 2% decrease from the previous quarter and 8% less than the same quarter in 2005. Bingo gross receipts for the quarter were $3,088,870 which is 12.1% less than the previous quarter and 18% less than the same quarter in 2005. Lottery/raffle gross proceeds were $1,675,536 which is 39% more than the previous quarter and 16% more than the gross proceeds for the same quarter in 2005.
Combined charitable gaming activities generated taxes, license, and registration fees of $1,423,045 for this reporting period. Of that amount, $139,355 was license and registration fees.
