The comparisons in this report are based on the revised forecast made by the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board on February 27, 2009. This forecast was divided into monthly estimates, and certified to the Clerk of the Legislature by the Tax Commissioner and Legislative Fiscal Analyst on March 11, 2009. This recertified forecast replaces the original certified forecast, which was based on the forecasting board’s February 22, 2008 forecast, adjusted for legislation passed by the 2008 Legislature, and certified on July 15, 2008.
The February 2009 forecast resulted in a downward revision from the original certified forecast of $67 million. By law, downward revisions to a certified forecast are recertified, so the comparisons made in this release are made on the basis of the March 11, 2009 recertified forecast.
