TAX COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCES CREDIT CARD PAYMENT IMPROVEMENTS
LINCOLN — Today State Tax Commissioner Doug Ewald announced that Official Payments Corp (OPC) has made the following changes that will enhance the credit card experience for those using credit cards to pay their Nebraska state taxes. The changes are as follows:
• Taxpayers can elect to use either English or Spanish for originating their credit card payments.
• The “My Account” function allows taxpayers to review and manage their personal payment history and receive payment reminders. It also features an “Auto Pay” option that allows the user to schedule recurring, fixed payments, or set up a single, one time payment up to one year in advance of the due date.
• Taxpayers visiting the department for tax assistance can now ask staff to originate a tax payment on their behalf while in our office.
These new features will provide greater options to taxpayers wanting to pay their taxes by credit card.
Through April of this fiscal year, OPC has processed 1,422 credit card payments resulting in the state receiving $956,330 in tax payments.
If you desire more information regarding the use of credit cards, please go to the department's Web site at www.revenue.ne.gov, and click on "E-Services."
