Attorney III #16-01052-1; $57,965/yr (negotiable depending on qualifications/experience); Lincoln and/or Omaha.  Duties include: Review, evaluate, negotiate, and litigate complex protested tax assessments; assist the Attorney General's office in certain matters involving the Department of Revenue; conduct varied and complex research in all areas of taxation; research and draft legal documents; provide legal opinions, advice and recommendations to department staff. 

REQUIREMENTS:  This position is classified as an Attorney III which include the following requirements:  Graduation from an accredited school of law and must be licensed in good standing with the Nebraska State Bar Association as required by section 7-101, R.R.S. 1943.  Preference for knowledge of bankruptcy law, corporate income tax, accounting and finance, audit and financial record review and/or recent experience in federal and/or State tax research. This position may be understaffed for an outstanding candidate without the necessary experience, at the Attorney II or I level with the expectation of the employee developing the experience, skills, and knowledge required to perform at the Attorney III level.
